Being able to do postgraduate studies under the JDS programme is one of the best opportunities I received in my life. This prestigious opportunity paved the way for me to complete the Master of Arts in Public Management at the International University of Japan, becoming the best academic performing student in the Public Management and Policy Analysis Programme (2020-2022), receiving the Dean’s Certificate for Academic Excellence. I finished my thesis with a distinction pass by analyzing union behavior in the context of public management.

For me, studying abroad is not only doing academics but also learning about other cultures, making new friends, exploring new travel destinations and many more. Travelling to famous cities on my dream list, visiting elementary school children to share Sri Lankan Culture with them and participating in JDS Programs for knowledge enhancement added more value to my two years in Japan.
Now I am back in Sri Lanka with the hope of utilising and sharing my knowledge and experience for the development of the Nation. I recommend the JDS programme to any public officer who has eager to learn abroad to serve Sri Lanka as it is the best opportunity to complete their higher studies abroad surrounded by beautiful people and culture.
