Student Life Special Trainings and Events
From November 2022 to January 2023, exchange meetings between JDS fellows and Japanese government officials were held with nine ministries (ten meetings in total). Since the spread of coronavirus infection in 2020, face-to-face exchange meetings were revived for the first time in the past three years, and half of them were held face-to-face. The exchange meetings set themes for each field and consisted of case study introduction from the Japanese side and exchange of views.

The meetings were mainly held inside the Japanese ministries and agencies, but some ministries, such as the Ministry of Justice, convened the exchange meeting at the International Legal Affairs Center / United Nations Asia and Far East Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFEI) in Akishima-city, Tokyo and organized a tour of the facilities and a round-table discussion.
