At the reception (JDS Mongolia fellows)

276 JDS fellows/ young government officers from 16 countries started their visit to Japan in August as JDS fellows under master’s/ doctoral program. Following the last year, visit from August could happen with the usual lively scene, and the joint training program provided an opportunity for cross-country exchanges.
During the orientation after their arrival in Japan, in addition to 30 hours of Japanese Language Course,  the fellows made courtesy visits to the Embassies of their respective countries, visited the Life Safety Learning Centers in Honjo and Ikebukuro, and received briefings on their accepting universities.

On August 29th, JICA hosted Welcome Reception attended by 428 JDS-related personnel for the first time in four years, and many people from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Embassies, and accepting universities attended.
JDS fellows will study about two years for the master's program and about three years for the doctoral program in Japan. It is expected that they will gain knowledge and experience that will contribute to solving development issues in their home countries, build useful networks, contribute to their home countries, and strengthen bilateral relations and after returning to their home countries.
